This includes building test services that enable distributed ondevice testing, Continuous Delivery features and building tools thatimprove the overall quality of the Amazon Video Application.As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the AV Living Room TestServices and Tooling Team, you will lead the design and implementationof significant technical projects by both achieving results throughother SDEs as well as writing critical-path code yourself. Incollaboration with the Software Development Manager on the team, youwill influence your team’s technical and business strategy by makinginsightful contributions to team priorities and approach, take the leadin identifying and solving ambiguous technical problems, architecturedeficiencies, or areas where your team’s software bottlenecks theinnovation of other teams. To achieve results through others, you willdemonstrate technical influence over 1-2 teams, either via acollaborative software effort or by increasing their productivity andeffectiveness by driving software engineering best practices. You’llalso lead design reviews for your team, actively participate in designreviews across the org, provide insightful code reviews and activelymentor other engineers.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field Understanding of computer science fundamentals such as algorithmdesign, problem solving, complexity analysis, data structures and objectorientated design Experience taking a leading role in designing, building andimplementing complex software systems that have been successfullydelivered to customers Experience leading & influencing software engineering bestpractices within your team and across others for the full softwaredevelopment life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, sourcecontrol management, build processes, testing, and operations Experience mentoring software engineers to improve their skills, andmake them more effective, product software engineers Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, andsenior management to collect requirements, describe software productfeatures, technical designs, and product strategy Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such asNode.JS, Java, C or C++ Solid understanding of test principles, including TDD Track record in building test tools as well as working withestablished testing toolsets.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MS Degree in Computer Science or related field Hands-on experience as a full stack software development engineer(front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between) In depth experience with React Experience with Scala.node, node.js, react, javascript, amazon video, prime video, the grand tourAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
