THE ROLE: We have a challenging new position for a Process Technician (single skilled with appropriate experience will be considered on appropriate pay structure) in our Hastings area water supply operations department at Southern Water.
You will undertake the day-to-day maintenance of, and repairs to, water supply works, reservoirs and pumping stations to ensure all environmental, quality and customer service standards are met. Whilst meeting H&S legislation and achieving budgetary targets, you must be prepared to assist operators when necessary and train in water supply operations.
The primary purpose for the Process Technician role is undertake reactive and planned maintenance plant and equipment on a daily basis. Provide technical expertise to internal and external contractors, manage projects, carry out inspections and tests on electrical equipment and to assist in development of other staff , and other duties as requested.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the role of Process Technician will have proven experience in electrical and / or mechanical working practice and have completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
You will have the ability to understand and use standard equipment and tools required of speciality and manufactured parts. You will able to read and understand technical mechanical or electrical drawings and have the ability to self teach due to current expertise. You will be both
adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills.
